Anyone who plans to throw this excellent InnoV8 babe out of the window should inform me so that I can catch it, or better still I’ll provide soft landing spot. I am sure they’ll soon realise their mistake. Samsung has finally succeeded in enticing me and my phone addicts from NOKIA. I douut if ever Nokia will combine all these features in Innov8 for similiar price tag

Mario, I had this too. IT has to do with one particular text message that you have not read, or somehow got messed up when you transferred your old SIM card to the new phone. Go to your “message” folder, left click and go to SIM messages. You should see a blue flickering message (or more). Read then, and the icon goes away.

Hi I recently transfered some music from PC to my phone, I have found the music in mass memory, however I cant transfer it to my main playlist in music, any idea how I do this? the manual is worse than useless. Thanks.

Yes, you have to update the ‘music library’ (in the options list in the music player) and then the phone finds your music.
I hate the manual too! I’m trying to find out how to be able to navigate to my gmail in full html, because it keeps switching back to the mobile version :(
I guess it saved some kind of setting somewhere, but I don’t know where. I also can’t log in to Twitter because of a GW 403 error.. anyone know how to fix that?

i don’t get it there why does it only come with a quick start guide? why isn’t the user manual included in the box?

its not like the phone is cheap it cost me 700USD and i have to download the full guide online?

And also annoying: some things are not in the manual, but only in the quick start guide. So for any problem, you have to read them both..

By the way, I circumvented my problem by installing Mobitile for Twitter, however it’s not entirely compatible with the innov8 T9 options. And for the gmail full html problem I installed Opera mini, that can show me the full html version of my gmail inbox.
I was first searching hard, because the specification “full html browser: “yes”" didn’t tell me much about the browser present. I guess it’s the default Symbian s60 browser.

2Mary: Thank you for using MobiTile! Can you please tell us (http://www.mobitile.com/?l=en&p=support) about the problem with installing MobiTile on your device. Your feedback is very valuable for us to improve the product.

    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    Hi,

I added my comments to the Mobitile website, and added the request to add the possibility to post pictures to Twitter :)

Also, I asked Samsung whether I can update Google Maps, because I want to use Google Latitude, just like all my friends do on their mobile phones. The reaction I got from Samsung was simply: “you can’t update Google maps on your phone”. Well thanks a lot Samsung. Why did you preinstall it in the first place, because it is free anyway :(
Very strange to call something “innov8″ and not even allow for updates ;)
But hey, maybe I had the bad luck to get a reply from an inexperienced employee, so I’m no trying my luck by filing a complaint. I just don’t think that I should be forced to hack my phone to be able to update a program.
I hope that Samsung has more time for answering complaints than for writing manuals ;)

By the way, I do like the phone. It takes great pictures that are easily sent by mms and email. Also watching videos on it works quite well. It did take me some time to find out how to play any kind of video on it.
For who’se interested: I use Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/ for converting video’s for my phone. It took me some time to figure out the right settings: Use the PSP format, but adjust Width/height to 480 (leave the right field empty). For audio, choose mixdown: stereo. You can save these settings so you can use it directly next time. Check that your video is saved as an m4v file. You can add videos to the queue and let it encode while you are not using your computer.

Well after 5 usefull tries to get the Samsung helpdesk to understand my problem they still think it’s Google’s fault that you can’t update Google maps on a Samsung. Guess Samsung doesn’t think that updating is innov8tive.
I really don’t understand why they won’t offer a built-in component update. The update file is available from Google, all they have to do is have it writen to the system files that a user can’t normally access. I guess hacking is the only option then.

    Dear Sir,

Your Manual for the Samsung i8510 innov 8 is good except for one thing – The display camera, showing a diagram is in German and not English! Yet,the rest of the manual is in English! I wanted to know what all the buttons on it were, especially where the unlock key was? I cannot read it on the Instruction manual anywhere. Can you help me or rectify the diagram?

    Thanks

the easy way to do it i find was to open google maps and when it tries to conect you select wireless networks and then you push the menu button enter again to google but this time instead of maps you go to the search or mail option and it will remain conected with the maps wireless network selected.
you can also go to menu>settings>settings>connection>destination>acces point> and there you select your wireless network

Hi, about the micro sd card, the instructiona are in the QuickGuide (not in the user manual). The tricky part is that the card goes in up side down! Took me a while to figure out why it didn’t fit at first :)

    Hi,

Mine was the same, the user manual can be found on the Samsung website.
I’ve been trying to find the tv out cable in a store or the Nokia one that is also said to work, but I have had no luck yet.
