As you may know, there has been a petition to Samsung for not supporting the I8910 HD as they should. A user was then invited to them and while discussing various things, the rep also told him that they are still supporting the i8510 with new firmwares. There is just "no demand" for them to release the firmwares. Sounds strange, I know.
But finally even two new firmwares are now leaked/released and here for you to download:

October-release: i8510XXIJ1: Download
November-release: i8510XEIK1: Download

I haven't tested them because I'm mainly using my I8910 HD, but I will do so tomorrow. Feel free to post your experiences with these new releases!

EDIT: It seems both firmware are missing the .rom-file, so they're pretty useless for now.

Not working. I downloaded and tried to flash them both. They are missing .rom.img files in the core folder. I asked the website owners about it and they said

Mmm thats not good firmware is from samsung so i cant do anything

I went to Samsung the other day and they said they'll update it for me themselves. I'll post a video then to show you what's new. Otherwise this didn't work. Thanks Gerii, breathing new life into the i8510

hi guys.. about to change the firmware ver. of mine.. i will be pleased if the latest I8510XEIK1 is working and useful..

if someone tried I8510XEIK1 please let us know.. also what are the changes ??

Both of these FW are missing a file on the CODE.

Both are missing the .rom file in the core folder.

The XX is not a real XX it only has the following languages: Cestina, English, Slovencina, Slovenscina

The dates are pretty much similar as IJ1 was compiled on 22/10, while the other on 02/11.
The XE won't load with a different PDA (while XX will) so I don't know what languages XE has.

Nope, it is missing the .rom-file. You could try to use an older rom-file if you can alter the xml-files accordingly, but I don't think that there will be much of a difference left after that.
Just a hint, but from what I've learnt with the I8910 HD, it's better to turn the bootloader option in Apollo off, so you can't brick your bootloader (that easily).
