Why is the white colour so sharp? I dont understand why i get so bad photos :(

On my camera i have this settings:
AF on. blitz auto, single image, portrait, 3264X2448 (8m), White Balance (auto, but i have tried all with same bad quality), no effects, image stabilizer on. Alike Well I get the white color of all of the photos I take!

what is your WDR-Setting ? Try changing that setting, try setting the ISO-Setting to ISO400 or 200 manually.

when shooting, please do NOT half press the trigger button to let the phone focus and then after that press it full to take the photo.

instead you instantly press the trigger full so the cam does focus and instantly takes the photo. this prevents shaky pictures (without you needing the anti-shake), when you have a steady hand.

So the thing i made wrong was to half press the button...

But can you explain to me what ISO is? i dont understand what it is..

(and i had fully charged the battery of the phone, and after this 4 photos did i loss 1 battery life on my display.... is that normal?)

I think you may have set your Exposure Metering to Spot Metering. Its in your camera settings. Try setting it to Matrix or Centre Weighted. Your pics r fine except for the overexposure(Extremely White). Its the metering thats playing with the whites. Let me know if you need more help.

Coming from Nokia N95 8G..i can honestly say that I'm quite disappointed with cam quality on Innov8. there's just to many settings to tweak. Unlike the N95 which is always ready to shoot without caring too much about the settings. If you'll going to read reviews about Innov8's cam quality in GSMARENA and PHONEARENA, there's this huge contradiction about it. While at GSMArena, it praises the Innov8 in high heavens. In PHONEARENA it was the exact opposite.

So you prefer a camera that has no ability to adjust the type of photo to one that lets you fully tweak it to your needs......lol

I just turn on Anti-Shake, Center Weighed etc...And i've never had a problem.
There is no need to mess around with the default settings unless you want a slightly different look.

Also GSMarena wins...
Nokia 6600 - Nokia N80 - Nokia N81 8gb - Samsung I8510 8gb = Brand Loyalty ftw!

Hi, I have the same problem. My picture quality is ok. However, In some cases, actually in 99% cases my pcitures turn bright as the sun. I don't understand this, i tried every setting i could find on the phone to fix it but it always comes white as it can be.

Samples:

This is indoors - http://img80.imageshack.us/i/photo050q.jpg/

This is outdoors - http://img339.imageshack.us/i/photo056d.jpg/ not much to see

And this is inside a car - http://img339.imageshack.us/i/photo056i.jpg/

As i said i tried every posible option and combination that i could find to try. None made it better. I tried updating my cam FW but that resulted in a restart of my device. And when in cam tune menu its blank, also when selecting the tune option nothing happens.

Please if anyone could help, this is quite frustrating as i had other issues with this phone that i didn't mind that much as this one. I just wanted to ask if somone could help here before i take it back to my dealer. I don't want to change my innov8 but if this s**t keeps happening i'm afraid i'll have to.
My FW:
Software version: I8510XXHL2
Software version date: 17/12/2008
Custom version: I8510TRAHL4

Thank you.
