so i got 5.00.40 working
the problem was this
whenever i installed it, i couldnt find the .sis file i the garming folder, but it doesnt put the sis file in teh garmin folder, mine was in some random folder i had in the E drive, i found it because i was backing up the phone to do a hard reset and it shows what files its backing up, and it quickly showed the garmin.sis file so i went back in and looked through everything and found it.....now time to hack it

I told you before:After installation You find garmin.sis in the E drives root menu
If there is anything else what I can help just let me know
What maps are you using?

right now i just have UK maps, i need all of europe, im flying out tomorrow to visit london, frankfurt, paris, and all of italy

Hi Everyone,
I just bought my i8510 today and I am having problem installing Garmin onto it. I read some of the threads here to find out the problem by myself but I could not. Thus, I would really appreciate your kind help.
I downloaded the version 5.00.30(since version 40 is an update file, I thought I needed it from the beginning since it would have some maps,voices etc), extracted to mass storage drive of my cell phone. Then as some of you instructed, went to office, files and run .sis extended file. Garmin has been installed and then went to applications and run Garmin. It started first, asking agreements, some settings, language,voice language, prompted,statue etc after completing I click begin trial but I get below message:
"Server could not process request. Please contact customer support"
I did not download any maps. That is all I did above. Some of you talks about, unlocking some files which I dont know if I need to or not? Do I need additional maps? The all I installed was version 5.00.30 standalone, I was going to upgrade to 5.00.40 version afterwards.
And one important thing " I dont have any data access from my GSM carrier yet" I have not had it enabled yet since this is the first day, However, I have my internet connection via wireless network in my apartment and Garmin asks me which WLAN to use and then I choose the right one that works but as I said getting that message.
Is this because of trial version since I dont have a key? Do I need to unlock some files is that the reason? or should I download any maps? I thought some of the maps came with that download? By the way, I need North America maps.

You shouldn't click on "trial..." just clilck on the bottom there is "start to..." or somethin like that then you'll need to unlock your garmin!
