Upgrading Google Maps

Postby Graeme2812 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:35 pm

Seeing as there is a new version of google maps for mobile devices out (3.00) is it possible to upgrade to this version over what is already installed (2.2.0.11) ?

When I try and install the new version I get the message, "Unable to install component is built in"

Is there any way around this?

There has been a posted way of updating maps, but i havent tried it, bt some people have said it works, but try at your own risk.

No need to do anything just paste these files on C and you've already got the latest Google,no need to install new Google ;)

Sorry that wont get you version three (lattitude), its version 2.3 something and is different to the original one installed. It doesn't have support for internal gps.

So you have got Version 3!!

How the hell did you get it? Is your phone hacked? Did you take any special steps before installing it? I have been trying all sorts to get it to install on my phone.
I've tried installing onto the Phone, Mass Memory and Memory Card! All have failed! :( I can't get it to work.

Knowing that somebody has got it to work annoys me even more because I know it is do-able lol.

Is there any help you could give?

Thats weird when I browse with Opera mini it shows as 2.3, when I use Web it shows as v3 !!

Still doesnt get me passed the 'built in component error', even with a hacked phone !! Any further info to assist ?
