Hi, has anyone tried flashing from firmware: I8510DJHI4 to the latest firmware? or any other newer firmware inbetween?
I have the latest version PC Studio 7, tried updating but it says i already have the latest firmware. As you can see below, the firmware is dated in september. Its out of date.

Camera settings do not save.. like "Anti-Shake" goes off after leaving the menu. I have also noticed many settings go back to default later on.

Text Messages(SMS) do not sort by date/time. It goes by random. I have tried to Sort by "date/time" many times, but it does not make a difference.
New SMS-es do not come ontop of the list, it stores randomly(somewhere inbetween). Ive got to scroll and look for the last messaged recieved.

who said that your mentioned bugs would be solved with I8510XXHJ3 or I8510XEHL1 ?
you have to remember that the XE-Firmware is for russian phones, so you will most probably lose your language. Are you comfortable running your phone in russian language (or in the best case in english)?

i do have the I8510XXHA and everything works just fine (except the saving of the camera settings). there is a reason why i did not try to update my phone, and the reason is non of the updates where reported to fix the camera settings bug or any bug at all !

hmm so do you think its okay for me to upgrade to the russian version? i only need english language. it wont mess up anything right? i dont wanna brick my phone

there is a certain risk using apollo to flash your phone with the russion firmware, but as i read there are many tricks which will let you use your phone, even when the flashing does not work ... you can always try to put a newer firmware on it, but as long as i have no statement that certain bugs are fixed i wont update my phone just for the sake of it !

what are the bugs that do annoy you the most?

hmm well, battery life is less than 24 hours.
phone hangs-up from time to time.
video playback not so smooth.

i think ill upgrade to I8510XXHJ3 and see how it goes.

p/s: could you PM those tricks just incase the flashing doesnt work? hehe i dont have a local warranty. got it from singapore.
