Right, I've finally decided that I want to try to update my phone firmware. However, if my phone has a sim lock (i.e. can't use with other sim cards), does that have any consequences? If so, I would try to unlock it first (although I don't know how yet). I don't necessarily need an unlocked phone, but if it would reduce the chance of ending up with a brick, I would prefer that .
