Hi Aliu,
Thanks for the further info and just as you suggested local journeys are best suited to "shortest route" as I have established for myself on my short journey to and from work. Having used TomTom Nav 6 on a Nokia E65 2 years or so ago, I think Route 66 compares very favourably with TTN6. I have found on initial start up that Route 66 takes longer to acquire a satellite fix compared to TTN6 on Nokia E65, but in fairness I was using a stand alone gps receiver with the E65 and have only tried Route 66 with the inbuilt sat gps receiver in my phone. I will test Route 66 with the stand alone receiver in the near future and report back with my findings.
Route 66 has proved to be great on the occasions that I have used so far and I think I already prefer it to TTN6. I hope this does not put the cat amoungst the pigeons, but I disagree with the view that Route 66 is expensive. Compared to TTN6 western europe on DVD which cost me £89.99, Route 66 M8 western europe on DVD at £54.50 inc P&P represents, I think, good value for money. I
know that you can purchase dedicated stand alone sat nav units starting at around £60.00 with UK & Irl maps and units with UK & Europe maps starting at around £90.00. Personally I would never consider a stand alone sat nav unit when an alternative application is available for my phone. Everything I need when I am out on the road everyday in one handy unit. I can make and receive calls, send and receive texts, play games, take pictures and video and now, with your help, I can sucessfully navigate from A to Z via the rest of the alpahabet if I wish to and all from one tiny package. It works for me.
Anyway happing navigating to you all. Once again Aliu thanks for your replies and advice.
Regards
