I spent a while searching the net for new themes.

This site seemed to have the best ones available.

I've tried a few and obviously its all down to personal preference but they all work and most of them are much better then the standard ones.

Just download from their forum to your desktop, unzip and then transfer the file to the install folder on your phone. Unplug your phone from the USB and go into the app manager, under installation files click on the themes you have just copied across to install them.

Then when you go to change theme it should be available to you.

PS. I found out that for some themes if you install them on to either mass storage or the memory card that when you connect the phone via usb the theme on the phone disappears and reverts to the default theme. To avoid this install the theme onto the phone memory and this will cure the problem. Obviously we don't have much memory there so if I were you I would only install your fav themes after checking them out. But file size of these themes are usually small, like less then 1mg. Also it seems random to me which themes this rule applies to, so some maybe fine in mass memory and some may not. All trial and error.

Nice post bro, you can also try http://www.zedge.net. Register your phone as a nokia n95 to access all the s60 themes etc.

Thanks guys, I'll check that other site out and see how those work.

I could be wrong here but since I've changed themes my battery life has definetly improved.

Actually that's not a bad idea.

OK there are two ways we can do this. I don't want people whining that they think theme A is crap because they hate Apple or fluffy bunnies.

So I would rather;

a) Create a new topic for people to post screens/links of their themes. Bitching/flaming would result in a banning for 7 days (like it does in the Basic Question and Answers)

b) We hold a competition where every body submits their favourite theme and it gets voted on by the forum users. A little bit of flaming would be ok We could have a new batch of themes every month for people to vote on and then evetually have a topic dedicated to "Theme of the month"

If you think there both ass then fair enough, but just throwing that out there

I think it's a good idea. I've seen similar things on other forums so why not here?

My only concern would be if it's just you and me posting Wouldn't get very far would it!

Still we can only give it a shot and see how it ends up.

A little flaming is good, as long as it's constructive then it makes it more interesting.

Just thought i might say something, Ive been looking for different themes for a while but could not find anything special. call me what you like but i like elegant themes found quite a few on that site so thank you roy for the heads up ( gonna try that one from mustaine so thanx in advance).

I think it would be a nice improvement if it was possible to implement a themes topic, i would happily post any interesting ones i found.
I think out of the two scenarios a mix of both could work quite well, i.e. general topic for day to day where people can say about what themes they found etc, then possibly a monthly competition where the top 5 go for votes (to generate the top 5 just see which ones has generated most interest in a month....or something similar) but would that be to hard to maintain?
