Ive had this problem scince i got my i8510, and im not sure if everyone has this problem. But the icons on the main menu for 'Settings' and 'Google' dont chnage with the themes. They seem to stay the same no matter what theme i set , the icons are already the same. I will attach some images.



Although going into the settings submenu the icon there is fine



If anyone can help me out, or knows a fix, then that would be appreciated.

Yes, mines exactly the same.

It might just be a case of we are stuck with those default icons, perhaps someone else can shed some light on this.

Most (All) of the themes are made for Nokia phones and these phones don't offer those 2 menu points. So they are not included with the themes.
You can also see this if you use new or (for the theme maker) unknown programs they also don't have a customized icon.

So i did a bit or reaserch and found out how to add the correct icons for our i8510 themes. But it means using carbide to sdit a theme etc.

I can get the Major and Minor UID's for the settings and google icons on the i8510, so you can set them as third party icons under carbide.
Then after editing a theme and re packing it and reinstalling it to the phone the old icons should fit with the theme.

But i dont know how to edit a allready made theme (if you can at all?)

Anyone any ideas?

Just to update this thread.

I've made a bit of progress in gettin the icons that dont change (when using a n95 theme on the i8510) to change.

So far i can get the menu item to change to a few icons (see below) but not the icon in the settings sub menu.

To change the icon to the same icon in the settings submenu, you would need the

of said icon.



If anyone knows the id for the settings icon in the submenu, please post it, if not i will keep searching. If you really wanted the icons to change for you themes you caould always reorganise the folders for the menu in appshelldata.xml
