Samsung I8510 MicroSD default password?

Postby crackez » Wed Feb 16, 2011 1:20 pm

Hi there, after my adventure with the cable I have another problem.. oh boy. I've tried to put my MicroSD card to a card reader(without success) when my phone was "dead" and now that is alright when I plug the card it asks for a MicroSD password.

Now the facts:

I've read on the internet that this mechanism is a security feature in order to keep your data safe, BUT I didn't put any microsd password so I have no clue what it is, any ideas?

P.S. codes like "1234", "0000", "1111", "00000000", "123456789" are already tried unsuccefully.

password ? that should be only set by phone, if you didn't set it, you're screwed, doesn't exist "default" password for this :? format might work, but I'm not sure and it maybe will want that password too ...

No fucking MicroSD password has been set, format? why everyone suggest format, I WANT THE DAMN DATA! format is piece of cake. The problem is that the password might be either numeric or alphabetic and it can be from one to eight digits and thats about ~134.217.728 possible compinations (no problem if I has my computer trying to find the password but it can't be inserted by me). Damn encrypting, I'm ok with encryption I'm not ok when there is a password that I didn't set up, maybe an application that I installed create this? who knows, 2yr of pictures and videos...shit shit shit shit and double shit

P.S. Bobsik, sorry for my language but I'm a bit upset.. I don't have anything with you, hope you'll understand

---Anyone else having this problem? I mean someone that has a MicroSD card in his phone(back up first), try to read it from a card reader(that would trigger the password) and then re-insert it to the phone) ..what happens?---

BTW the password should be stored somewhere in the phone, so if someone has deep knowledge about i8510 can help me out to extract this password in order to input it when its asks for a code..

One solution that I saw is to format the card(thats not a problem, it will erase every possible password).. then recover the data. The only problems I'm facing.. The recovery will give all my data back? also the data would be exacly as they are or a picture of 1mb would be 20mb

P.S. I've been dialing with data recovery in computers for many many years(Computer Technician is my job), I'm not new in this. But memory card and phones? well there I'm one level more than a totally rookie.

easy man :D i'm saying only things i know :D my father has problem with MicroSD password too, but he set that password and then removed it, but microSD still wanted it ... I don't know, if backup will store data from MicroSD, i didn't use it before for MicroSD, only for settings contacts etc. ...

I tried to lock another MicroSD (2GB) from the i8510 and I've been unsuccessful, nowhere to find that microsd password(at least I didn't find ine 1-2 minutes which is much trust me). I will try to make an image from the microsd and try somehow to get the data.. oh boy

P.S. Remember not to buy a samsung phone(no updates.. at least not with their software, bad support) [talking to myself :P]

Next phone will be HTC... I see good updates of the firmware and didn't hear any big complains in the support.

P.S. I still have the problem with the pass, DAMN
