Any help on how to resolve that issue will be much appreciated.
Hello niifelix,
The file you asked for (R66M8splash.mif) is not located at drive c.
I wondered why you have to update your Route 66 at the first instant. This is because all the firmwares from 2009 (January) to date has the latest Samsung Route 66 installed (S60_3_0_v8_0_18783). This version is the most current if Route 66 is preinstalled on your phone.
Thus if you have the newer firmwares and Route 66 is preinstalled on your phone, the solution to your problem is this:
Hard reset the phone, that is, press *#7370# (enter 00000000 when prompted for security code).
Doing the above will restore your phone to it's original state. Note: All applications installed by you will be deleted.
Option Two. If your firmware is an old one with preinstalled Route 66 which version is less than v8_0_18783. Advice here is to flash your phone to any of the newer firmwares.
Option Three. If you have the newer firmware but without Route 66 preinstalled (e.g the Nigeria firmware). In this case, download the latest Route 66 from the official website and install it over the partial one you have one. Reinstalling will restore all missing parts and update Route 66 to latest version.
Note: In the official website, there are 2 types of Route 66 for INNOV8. Download the one that corresponds to the type of maps you have. There are: (1) ROUTE 66 Maps S60 V3/V5 ==> current version is 29744.29734
and (2) Mobile 8 S60 V3 ==> current version is Mobile8_S60_3_0_v8_0_18990
Maps designed for (1) above, will not work with (2) and verse versa. License for maps (1) and (2) are not inter-changeable.
Finally, the missing folder for your dictionaries. Check official samsung website and select phone software for i8910 Omnia HD. Used to be there for download. If you cannot find it, let me know. I will upload the complete folder for you. Just copy the folder to your E drive (Mass Memory). Remember to always backup before formatting your E drive.
Best of luck.
