Remodelled Firmware I8510DJIC1 India (March 2009).

This firmware is exactly like the original

I8510DJIC1 India (March 2009) firmware except for these changes:

1. Built-in google maps removed.

2. Built-in Fring removed.

3. Built-in RoadSync removed.

4. Built-in Route 66 removed.

5. Built-in ShoZu removed.

6. Built-in GyPSii removed.

You now have the choice to install any of these applications

if you like without the usual error of "program is inbuilt".

Program is no longer inbuilt. So download and install to C or E or F drive.

*. Norton, Fifa, Yahoo and Asphalt also removed.

(You can reinstall them if you like).

Memory at C drive is 56.4mb, speed is improved a bit.

The rebuilt firmware can be downloaded from:

Hi Aliu
Why did not you just remodeled this FW? It is best? Better than I8510XXIA1 Nigeria?
Thank you for your reply.

Hello Matzcak
The 5 firmwares listed in the "Best Firmwares for INNOV8" are all good.
The best depends on the user and to what use you often put your INNOV8.
I use a lot of GPS services, browsing the internet via WIFI, and making phone calls.
The Nigeria firmware has the best combination for these 3 purposes especially GPS services.

I remodelled the India firmware, removing the old preinstalled Route 66(mobile 8) and Google maps (version 2).
and by installing the latest versions of Route 66 (mobile 9) and Google maps v4.11,
the India firmware now gives me the best combination of my 3 basic needs of the phone.
GPS and GSM reception is excellent here. Internet via WIFI is slower than Nigeria (SA and UK).

Though this is an Asian firmware, it works excellently well here in Europe.

With the feeling that some of us need these regular firmwares without the disturbing inbuilt applications,

I now include here two more remodelled firmwares of South Africa and the UK.

These firmwares are exactly like the originals except for these changes:

1. Built-in google maps now replaced with Google maps version 4.11

2. Built-in Fring removed.

3. Built-in Route 66 removed.

4. Built-in ShoZu removed.

5. Built-in GyPSii removed.

6. Norton, Fifa, Yahoo and Asphalt

7. In the UK firmware, all the apps like BBC iplayer, MSN, etc were also removed.

* To install the uk firmware, I suggest using Phone_I8510XXIB2 for modem

because this has a better network and GPS reception than the Phone_I8510NPIB1.

Which one would you recommend between the remodelled ones and the IJ1? I'm running Nigeria atm and I'm wondering if there is anything better. English is my only request.

Any of the remodelled firmware is now better than Nigeria firmware.
None of them has Route 66, so you can install the latest version from the official website instead of he Samsung Route 66 preinstalled.

Secondly, you have the latest version of Google Maps now in the UK and SA remodelled firmware.
Google maps version 4.11.
In the India remodelled firmware, all Google Maps has been removed so that you can always install any current Google maps that is available directly on you phone browser or via PC Suite.

And some useless other applications have been removed also. These are why these remodelled firmwares are now better than Nigeria. Though difference in speed is not noticeable, only now you have a freedom to install or update some inbuilt applications.

Just came back from holiday and noticed since I've installed garminXT the phone went berserker again with less than 20 hours of standby time and all sorts of weird problems. Is this something firmware related or this is purely something that Garmin is causing?
