problem installing N-Gage

Postby iceteaz » Tue Sep 01, 2009 8:12 pm

hi all, im having problems with installing N-Gage on my innov8. i hope u guys can help me.

ill explain the problems, so u can help me better.

tried using Rendy's link first.
where get a Cert and a Key and use signsis to sign hello X.

i have 2 kinds of certs. the first one from http://andy.ehandysoft.com/devcert.php
with a result of this : http://img257.imageshack.us/i/problem1.tif/
so i guess it didnt work. i think it says the certificate cannot be read, or just isnt valid.

so i try another Certificate from http://cer.opda.cn/en
i get a Cert and i get a key. but when i download. both files are.. the same?! and both files do not end with ".cer" or ".key", just blank binary files.
still.. i try to use them with the sign sis. using the same file as a key and cer.
with a result of this : http://img27.imageshack.us/i/problem2.tif/

so.. i end up with 2 certificates and both seem to be not working. then i saw a way on the forum, installing a signer on the phone. and then selecting the certificate, and sign hello X on the phone itself. i try and fail. using both certificates from OPDA and Andy.Handysoft

when i use the first certificate from andy.handysoft. my phone says: "Errors found in operation. logs are write to C:/DATA/s603rdsigner/S603rdSigner.log"
and that's it. so as asumed it didnt work.
using certificate 2, from OPDA, it works. i get 1/1 on the screen. so i think it's successfull. i go to installation.
i see Hello OX _ unsigned with 150KB
and Hello OX _ signed with 158KB, when i try to install it asks me if i want to install, i say yes, but all of the sudden a message comes on and says
"Certificate Error, contact the application supplier."

so nothing works.. and im out of idea's.
can anyone help?

thank you for taking your time to read.

Try getting the HelloOX2 pack from there. Don't use the HelloOX2, just get the cert and key in the pack (leftup's) and use them with your signing app to sign your copy of HelloOX. Did this after my umpteenth phone crash :p

First of all I got myself a devcert and key. The leftup cert and key should also suffice, but you may probably want to check this out: h**p://thesymbianblog.com/2009/08/07/how-to-hack-your-device-in-under-5-minutes/ for a complete how-to and all the files you need. The how-to is written for N97 but the methods also work for INNOV8.

Download the HelloOX pack. Mine was a very old version, 1.02 but I suggest you to get 1.03. Do not get any newer versions because they have a different way in remapping our system folders, and my phone crashed once when trying to install HelloOX 2.01. The same thing happened even though they claimed to have fixed the HelloOX.

It seems that your computer has a problem with the SignSIS-GUI app, so I suggest you try signing apps on the fly (right from the phone). It may be a compatibility issue but the app worked fine on my Vista.
