How I solved my battery issues

Postby PluMbE » Thu Jan 07, 2010 3:55 pm

Hi there

Just wanted to tell my experience with my innov8 concerning battery life.

I've experienced that this phone is quite odd when it comes to battery performance.

Sometimes my phone lasts for less than a day. Sometimes for up to 3 - 4 days. Always with the same usage etc.

I've broken the code, and I've now found out that everytime I restart my phone (power on/off), then the battery will perform very bad until I've discharged/charged it for at couple of times. After two sessions, the battery starts performing VERY good (2 - 4 days).

So my advise for you is simply to never turn off your phone. Try to avoid it and se what happens. Everytime my phone accidently is turned off (eg. running out of battery), then on the first (and sometimes second) charge it's piss poor, but then on the third charge, it's very good.

Of course the FW maight be important, so here's mine:
Firmware: i8510XXIA1

I don't know if it'll work for you guys, but thought I wanted to share.

Happy new year ;)

i might try that but the battery life all depends on the very first charge and every other charge after that. if you dont charge it for long enough on the first charge, the battery wont last very long and if you over charge the battery after the first charge, the battery life will reduce dramatically. this applies to every type of battery

Thanks Plumbe.I will give it a try.
Just like to say that my firmware is I8510XXIC1 and that came on the phone when I bought new ,a few weeks ago!
Unfortunately,I also have same battery issues!Dont think it will last a day if I use camera a lot or playback videos!

Even if I hardly use the phone and just leave it on standby,it will not last 2 days!

My first battery charge was almost 1/2 day until i got the BATTERY FULL message on screen

Furthermore ,I also bought a second battery, maybe only 900 amh(not sure..doesnt say!)..and thats just like the original battery.

I will try and do what the opening poster did to solve his issues..and see...

There are problems as such happening most of the time but I do believe that it can be fixed after all. Never shutting down your phone is just a method to avoid from having battery problems from occurring but not solving them for good. Try checking if it is related to your battery cell, but I hardly doubt it has anything to do with it. I had this problem before with one of my phones, upgrading the software solved the problem.
