This is too bad. This is one of the phones I was considering buying, but now I'm not so sure. I'll try the other people's suggestions here, though. Thanks for these tips.

This truly is a great phone, but if you wanna squeeze out the best of it you'll have to do some exploring on the forums. Basicly you need tips and tricks on how to improve your experience and overal impression. From updating the firmware to hacking your phone. Once you get te hold of all that and start installing some applications and using it wont disapoint you. The only thing i've couldn't fix is the laggy and slugish photo gallery, but i can live with that, it loads everything after a minute, than its super fast. Even though its processing images with 2 or more megabytes that makes it impressive.

Camera. Using autofocus in total darkness is a waste of energy. When i try to take a picture of my friends when we are in some low light area they complain about the LED light wich is quite irritating. But taking the AF function to PF makes a great difference. Also setting iso to 800 in dark places does give a picture some noise but picture becomes almost nearly good as some digital cams. In daylight conditions camera is superb.

Video recording. Slow motion is a great adition to this phone, i've tryed it few times and made my friends laugh. In dark places video recording is limited to 20 cm, sadly you cannot see anything in full darkness despite glowing LED. A bit disapointing is when in very loud enviroment the audio in video recording becomes out of sync.

Connectivity. Internet, over 3G or Wifi is super fast. Everything loads fast, you migh get a hold up when loading web pages that are larger than 1 Mbyte.

GPS. Never let me down. The reception is very good and with garmin or sygic you can get around in unknown areas really good.

Music player. Its good and with DNSe its better than my old sony audio cd player. You might think some options are missing from music managing but in a phone you have all that is needed.

Battery. Its still a mystery, but one thing is for sure. If using some third party themes battery dies in 12 h(full charge). You're stuck at samsung's preinstalled themes if you want to have battery life. With medicore usage it lasts about 24 hours. By medicore i mean using music player, Wifi, taking pictures, voice and texts, ect. The LED drains battery the most, aswell as wifi.

Dimesions. Oh yes its large, a brick imo. But dont worry that brick is quite stylish, i like the desing. In time you will get the hand of it and it won't matter.

Quality. Superb, i've installed 'Invisible sheild' on it and after 7 months i havent seen even the tinest scrath on it since.

As for me, i didn't want a touch phone, but i wanted a phone that could do it all. This is the one.

Firmware: (Nigeria) I8510XXIA1 (hacked)

I know many folks are complaining about battery life but for me the day I found this forum my battery issues disappeared. I don't use a memory card, taking one of the issues out of the equation, I disable everytime I turn it on screencapture and agpssupport and I use profile scheduler and switch the phone to offline mode when I'm sleeping. I get probably 3+ days of usage on a single charge with 60+ minutes of voice calls, maybe 2 hours of web browsing, maybe 20 photos, watching a couple of hours of movies and listening to some music.

The only issue bothering me was garmin. But I recently discovered which process was draining all of the battery after I installed garmin.

I have had my INNIV8 for 3 years now and the only problem I had was with the battery. I picked up a new camera battery at batteries.com and had it 2 days later. Other than the battery problem the camera has performed flawlessly.
