Google maps version 4.11.
In the India remodelled firmware, all Google Maps has been removed so that you can always install any current Google maps that is available directly on you phone browser or via PC Suite.

Hi Aliu,

Could you also rebuild I8510XXIC1South Africa to not have any Google maps or any other apps so that it's updateable? Or you can post here the step-by-step procedure. :)

Thanks.

Hi.

Thanks for your work on that firmwares. i've been looking forward to that modifikations for a long time now.
Unfortunately i've got a problem with the Indian firmware from your first post. I cant get an Internet connection with my phone now.
Says something liek "Connection not available"

Phone is connected to provider (T-Mobile D) and i also checked that the access points are available.

Anyone else out there who's got these problems?

First I have to say thank you. Great work. I was trying the same, but I failed

But I can't get Route66 Mobile 8 running, the installation always fails. When I try it as an upgrade, the phone tells me, that I have to install the programm first, and when I try it as a basic installation, it tells me, that Route66 is already installed.
I hope you can fix it, or tell me how to do it, because I think, it is still the best navigation software.
Thanks in advance

You could also remove QuickOffice and PowerDic

Hello CYKEB,
I never experiencd the problems you complained about with Route 66. All the same, try to install the latest Rout 66, ROUTE 66 Maps - S60 V3/V5 ( which is Mobile 9 and not Mobile 8), version 9.1.31799.31792 Works perfectly.
You can download it from here: http://www.66.com/support/index.php?cid ... etail&p=42

Connection has no issues.

For all, please I don't visit this website as often as before as I am now engulfed with my Samsung Wave. The best phone I have ever used. Though with it's little shortcoings, still outbeats the majority out there.
