1. I8510XXIA1 Nigeria (Jan 2009) => English, Francais(French), Deutsch, Italian, Español (Spanish).
2. I8510DJIC1 Australia (March 2009) => English, Francais(French), Deutsch, Italian, Español (Spanish).
3. I8510XXIC1 South Africa (March 2009) => English, Francais(French), Deutsch, Italian, Español (Spanish).
4. I8510DJIC1 India (March 2009) => English, Francais(French), Deutsch, Italian, Español (Spanish).
5. I8510XXIC1 UK March 2009) => English, Francais(French), Deutsch, Italian, Español (Spanish).

The startup/default language for all the firmwares above is English.
Battery life for all five firmware are superb (compared to the rest firmwares). They all last the same number of days.
The font for all the above five firmwares are the normal fonts we are all used to in Samsung I8510.

The languages in the firmware I8510ZXIE1 Taiwan (May 2009) are, Chinese, English and Mayau (not too sure of the spelling)
The startup/default language for the firmware I8510ZXIE1 Taiwan (May 2009) is Chinese.
The font here is different. A bit bigger and bold.
Battery life is less compared to the above five.
But when combined with I8510XXIC1 South Africa (March 2009), the firmware I8510ZXIE1 Taiwan (May 2009) reaches to a level performance almost equal to the five named above. But it is not recommended. Just waste of time and risking your phone. Why combine mangoes and oranges in order to get tomatoes? Better get yourself a real single natural tomatoes.

must you use the firmware that is specific to the area you are using the phone?

Aliu wrote:As promised, here you have the mega upload of all the firmwares
recommended for your Samsung I8510 mobile phone. Each download has the complete
files to update your firmware. Just download, launch Apollo, upload files and click
the ALL DOWNLOAD button. Enjoy

1. Nigeria : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NKKYGZ31 {I8510XXIA1 Nigeria (January 2009)}
(This firmware to me, is the first so far. Though the difference with the rest firmwares in this list is not so pronounced.
No Route 66 preinstalled. No Norton. Five main European languages. )

2. South Africa: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AQATJJXG {I8510XXIC1 South Africa (March 2009)}

3. UK: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V9ETAFZ4 {I8510XXIC1 UK (March 2009)}
(This firmware has many new applications preinstalled like MSN Messenger, BBC iPlayer, Skype, etc.
But unfortunately none of these applications open/launch unless you live in the UK.
Recommended for UK residents only.

4. India: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IU4LBP7Q {I8510DJIC1 India (March 2009)}

5. Australia: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N80PV6NB {I8510DJIC1 Australia (March 2009)}

6. Combined Fimware: I8510ZXIE1 Modem (from I8510ZXIE1 Taiwan May 2009)
I8510XXIC1 PDA and I8510XFAIC2 CSC (from I8510XXIC1 South Africa March 2009)

Link to download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=23EW3Y6R

【1. The I8510ZXIE1 Taiwan (May 2009) firmware is useless for any non-chinese speaking person.
No need to combine this firmware with another. The best performance you may get in combination is not more than using
any single other IC1 firmware. Mathematically, this is what you get:
I8510ZXIE1 (Taiwan) + I8510DJIC2 (Malaysia) = I8510XXIC1 South Africa (March 2009)
Advice: Don't install unless you speak Chinese.】

I flashed into the combine firmware but inside got no chinese input or whatever regarding to chinese. So why do you mention install it if i am able to speak chinese?

Hi from the UK

I'm a late entry into this but have successfully downloaded firmware a couple of times. Ref the UK one, the UK only apps are network specific ( i.e. the 3 network ) and will not allow connection via wifi! Hence they are basically useless if you use a different network.
