thanks for all the help i appreciate it. But for some reason it doesn't work. I understand everything you are saying step by step and I consider myself pretty tech savy so i know what I am supposed to do but god forsaken reason whenever i try to sign something an error comes up saying "errors found in operation" and provides a directory to the log of the error. When i go to the log of the error is says "unknown key type" which leads me to believe its my key. I read somewhere that the key and certificate should be named the same things or something? can anyone confirm this? regardless those who I've tried to contact who have had similar issues are not responsive. I think I will try to reattain a key and certificate from that chinese website again. thanks again though

that is not neccessary. try to give us a link of that app and we could try to sign it self, if it will work, problem is in (probably that key) file. i have my cert and key files from OPDA and works normally... (but i have HelloX 2 so i don't need it right now) :)

I realized, that innov8 has no future anymore > Nokia N900 (With portable version of Debian Linux), but I still visit sometimes this site :)

This site is working....
http://andy.ehandysoft.com/devcert.php

Maybe the problem is the way how you put your IMEI number...

Example:

IMEI : xxxxxxxxxxx/a

Just remove slash..

MEI : xxxxxxxxxxxa

I got certificate after 10 hours...good luck!

i downloaded a cert from ipmart or whatever forum.... it to would not sign helloOx or mpadrives

i keep gettin "error during process" or whatever like other people have gotten

i have tried freesigner v1.0 and 1.01
i have tried signsis on my computer, it says signed but then when i verify it says error unrecog...

this is really fustrating, i know im doing everything right... its just not working. i cant even sign helloO so i can hack my phone.. this is sad lol

OK i got it to work, I think me and other people on here are making the same mistake

i used s60certkey.com site.. the cert was good

i also used signtools2.2 and it signed helloOx and mapdrives and my other apps

i did this on my computer then just used the pc suite to install them after they where signed, all very simple

here is what i was doing wrong

YOU MUST PUT SIGNTOOLS2.2 , YOUR CERT, YOUR KEY, AND THE SIS FILE (YOUR APP) IN THE SAME FOLDER!

once i did this it worked beautifully, just make a new folder, put signtools and your cert and key and any sis files in the same folder all together

then start signtools, click cert and pick the one in that folder, pick the sis you want to sign and bam! it works

you will end up with a files that says example "helloOx_unsigned.@#$#@!" with a weird ending like that. thats the signed app! enjoy :D

I read the whole post. I am trying to singn the nokia Podcasting sis for my Nokia 6710 Navigator.

Everything works fine, I got the key file, I installed the freesigner on my phone, i can (self)sign the posdcasting app.

However when I try to install the signed podcasting app my phone returns a certificate error.

What did I do wrong?

hacking something that is not belong to you or without permission of the owner is a bad act. Hacking can cause different problems so better no to hack even if this is a simple thing.

Hi... i am new to this mobile phone hacking stuff so plz give me a break if i start being noobishly irritating :P
First of all, i'd like to see that my basic intention is to (finally!!!) install apps on my i8510 8gb... I am not so sure if hacking would do any good to that?!
On topic now, i gave my IME number to the site, waited for a day and then came back. I got the certificate now...it's a folder containing 5 files, of whom one is the actual certificate, one is a registry key named key , another 2 SISX files with weird names and a web shortcut file... should i put ALL this in my phone?
But my main issue is that i can't get to INSTALL the s60SignSis_V1.0 app... what do you mean by that? I put it in a folder in my phone but it doesn't seem to recognise it... i also tried to "sign" it by using the symbinsigned site ( i am managed to register there...) but nothing worked! I had previously seen a "technique" in which you attach the SIS file on an email and then open it, but this DOESN'T WORK too... i am a bit desperate down here, please help me :P
Thank you in advance!
