I got the certificate and the key from the site mentioned, and I installed the signing application too (both on Phone & Computer)
The problem is that when I sign the unsigned apps from phone it says:

"Errors found in operation.
Logs are write to C:\Data\S603rdSigner\S603rdSigner.log"
I think this means this signer has not signed
the unsigned application, because it created a sisx file named signed, but it is a 0bytes file, which is useless.
I tried using HelloOx (it gives Certificate error) and tried installing helloCarbide and the sys folder is yet not accessible even after capsOff- hence I cannot paste the installserver to C:\sys\bin.

Please help with whatever you know about this process- it is frustrating to have everything licensed in life!  :x

I must say UIQ3 is much easier to hack, is'nt there an easier way to hack this damn innov8 software?

PLEASE HELP.

Try using FreeSigner instead:

Code: Select all
http://symbian-freeware.web.id/symbian/tools/freesigner-v100-s60v3

And use leftup's cert and key (attached).
Attachments
Leftup_CertKey.rar
Unpack, put into mass storage and use these with FreeSigner

wat is the key file for? I don't think anybody has mentioned that but rather only mentioned about the certificate... Do we put them both on the phone, use both of them?

Signing anything requires both cert and key files.

Well for that you may need to ask the Nokia/Symbian dev communities... I'm just a below average user... ;)

well im asking because my signing app doesn't work, everytime i try to sign something it creates the same file but with .sisx at the end of it and it doesn't do anything when i open it. I try to open the original file and everytime it says something like "unable to install a protected application from an untrusted supplier" so I'm pretty sure i didn't install the signing app right. I followed the instructions but but i didn't do anything with the key.key file, I guess my question is am i supposed to move it somewhere or add it to the app?

there are apps (f.e: SignSis for symbian) that will sign your app with both of files .cer and .key (both are needed) . If it doesn't work, than problem is probably in default app...

as much as I appreciate the responses and help, nobody has yet to answer my question on what i have to do to the key.key file. Like for example am i supposed to use it to sign an app or do i put it in a specific folder or do i use it in conjuction with the s603rdSigner program while signing an app? the guide doesn't mention anything regarding this file so i didn't do anything with it but I think thats why my app signing has not worked

Ok mate. Install FreeSigner on your phone. It's the one that I use and the most stable IMO. When you sign an app you need a cert and a key because you use kind of stick both of them to the app installer file to make it "signed". If you only have the cert the result of the signing will always be an error, or it may not be signed at all. Don't ask us what the key file has to do with the signing process, because I for one don't know the answer. Here's a step by step guide on signing apps with FreeSigner:

1. Install FreeSigner
2. Copy BOTH cert and key files into any folder on your phone, mass storage, or memory card.
3. Start FreeSigner
4. Go to Settings and scroll down a bit, you will see two blank fields called "Sign cert" and "Sign key"
5. Click on them and you will need to choose the signing cert and key, do so by navigating to their respective folders from step 2
6. After all is done, click "Add task" on the FreeSigner's main screen and navigate to where your "cracked, unsigned" app installer file is.
7. Choose "SignSIS" and NOT "SelfSignSIS"
8. Click Menu > Go!
9. The app installer file is now signed.
