Well, i guess someone had to do this. I mean, now we all know that Garmin XT does to phones, why not make a topic about applications that do cause trouble.
If you can deny/confirm any of these - please, do so. Let's build up the list if it's possible.
1. Garmin XT 5.10 - this little baby drains battery life big time. Confirmed by a lot of people on this very same forum.
2. CorePlayer 1.30 - now, it only happened to me, but it crashes any web-browser on startup. Opera, default browser and Skyfire (not that it does'nt crash on it's own most of the time).
3. HelloOX 1.5 - I never finished the installation of this product, so i don't know what effect it have on your phone, but, while installing if it does'nt finish (hangs/freezes, phone reboot, etc.), after starting phone, you will face immediate sluggishness. Phone takes hours to go from menu to menu. Not to mention that if you get a phone call, forget about "picking" it up.

That's what i've faced so far.

you has got some of the oldest FW, maybe newer will be better.
1. i don't use garmin, so i can't tell you more
2. coreplayer works normally for me (also listening to stream radio)
3. hello i've installed, but i'm not sure which version exactly, but it should be v1.03 and it worked (and working up today )

1. stupid thing to say, GarminXT does NOT drain battery more than some other GPS app. but as I said 10 times here on the forum one PART of garmin causes huge battery drain, however there's a simple way to correct that: install jbak taskman-go to menu-tools-processes-type TSRautostart-menu-terminate process, and you're done (repeat after every restart) - battery now last for 5 days!
2. every single player works like a charm, online and offline
3. HelloOX have only one affect to the phone: cracked it! .. but there's a more than few online how-to apply HelloOX, so if you did not fallow tutorials, instalation failed .. I try several tutorials and found one that works

Tried that too with 5.00.10 and I can confirm that it doesn't work. My battery still died in less than 24 hours. The problem only went away after I completely wiped out all the contents of the Garmin folder after uninstalling it. In fact, after uninstalling, my battery still suffered severely. I am using:

I8510DJH1 firmware
I8510L13SARHI1 custom version

(both are dated 2008-09-01).

.. hm, is there a reason to use out-of-date garmin, I'm talking about 5.00.40 .. and shutdown screen capture with jbak, and install themes on the phone memory ..

Well, the reason was because 5.00.10 was available in standalone version, so I decided to start from there and update later to 5.00.40, but after the bad initial experience I decided to go back to the old school way of seeing where you want to go: Google Maps
