Just like the rest of you, I keep seeing posts that say "you can hack the I8510, just PM me and I'll tell you how". To remove some of the secrecy and to try and hopefully explain it in full, here is one of the best ways to hack/install almost ANY app for the I8510.
First things first, you need to go here.
http://andy.ehandysoft.com/devcert.php
Kudos to DarkPandOr for finding this!
In the main box, you have to enter you IMEI number and then enter the code you can see (it's all numbers, no letters) into the second box. When you press submit, you will get a message come up in Chinese, telling you to come back in 12-24 hours.
Now the reason they want the IMEI is because they are generating you a Symbian Developers Certificate specific to your phone.
While your waiting, you can download and install this http://rapidshare.com/files/193773960/s ... s_V1.0.zip
This is a signing application that, when teamed up with your certificate, lets you sign almost any app.
Now after 12-24 hours, go back to the website and enter you IMEI and the number code again. This time you will get a message like the picture attached pop up. If you click on the one I've circled, you will then download your certificate.
When you put this on your phone, it doesn't have to be anywhere specific, just somewhere you can easily remember.
Now all you need to do is start the S60 signing app then select options -> settings -> Sign Cert and then select your certificate and you're done!
Once you've got the actual .sis file of the app on your phone. start the signer and select "Add Task". Find the .sis and then select options and then add. Choose to "Sign Sis then click options and the Go!
It signs it for your phone and it now lets you install it without any Certificate Error messages. I tried this with the Nokia Podcasting app and it worked a charm! (the app itself doesn't work because it's missing some kind of vital Nokia-only component
And there you have it.
Please be aware that you do this at your own risk.
A big thanks to Ultraman and V1rtu4l for turning me onto the site with some of this info on and again kudos to DarkPandOr for the better link!
Any questions or problems then please post them and we'll see what we can do!
Happy Trails
EDIT - Changed link to site that DarkPand0r found as it's better that the Google translated Chinese version.
