Send SMS Problem

Postby crackez » Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:25 pm

Don't know if anyone experience that. Well the problem goes like that. Composing an sms and trying to send it.. you are waiting and waiting and the phone says it will resend it after 3 minutes and again same happen. Result sms will not be delivered.

Part of a solution, try to put the country code e.g. 0030 or +30 for Greece even if you are inside Greece! it works(with some numbers).

P.S. This only happens with a some numbers, also there are some numbers that don't work with the above trick. Anyone with a better solution or this problem(bug)?

I can send sms with different mobile phone, so I checked already if the problem is with the phone or the sim card and I can confirm it's the phone!

Have you looked up the service center/messaging central number or whatever it's called?

It can send sms to everyone my I8510 except a few people(if I change the sim card and put it in an older phone of mine I can send to everyone sms even to those that my I8510 is refusing to send). I didn't change the number that is used to send sms(I know what you mean). I really don't know whats going one and why I can't send sms to some numbers..

i have read somewhere (it was here ^^) that you should try to insert another sim from another provider in your phone and start it. let it log into the net and wait a while ... then you shut down the phone and put your own sim in your phone again and see if the problem is still persistent. i read that your phone does reset itselfs sim settings or something like that, when you put in another sim.

is your provider accidently O² ?

here the thread which you'd like to check problem-with-sms-messaging-t229.html

No this does work with another sim as you said, because I'm a Greek so on holidays I go back to Greece and put there my Greek sim card.

P.S. No I have Orange and Q-Telecom in Greece

I've solve the problem with the sms, if you've got problem then do the following:

go to:

Menu -> Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Text Message -> Message Centers

there you'll find SIM message centre

change the number to the appropriate sms center(e.g. UK orange has +447973100973), for an unknown reason this is messed up to a weird number(for me it was +66xxxxxxxsomething)

P.S. Admin of the forum please refresh the webpage saying about this solution, thank's | Why I didn't check that before? ..this was one of the first things I had to check before thinking of any other matter, anyway I'm glad that I think of it even if it took me a while.
