Samsung PC studio + "Class not registered"

Postby Ticcy » Sun Dec 07, 2008 1:53 pm

Hi all,

I've had my i8510 now for quite a few months, but I still cannot use the Samsung PC Studio fully. When I try and run one of the options it comes up with the error "Class not registered".

This is the case with most of the options. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if something is broken, but it has started to annoy me.

I'm sorry if this has been dealt with previously, but I have searched the forums and not found anything.

I have tried installing the version found in this post, but I still get the same errors. I am running windows Vista.

Would be very greatful if someone could help.

Thanks in advance.

Heya, I have the exact same issue! I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit and it seems the Samsung PC Studio does not seem to work at all! I get the exact same class not registered crap too. I've since done a format & clean install on my laptop and haven't bothered to install the PC studio or the USB drivers from the official Samsung site, as Vista recognises the phone as a USB removable storage device anyway!

I couldn't find anyone else mentioning this issue, so I thought it could be just a Vista x64 issue. Is there anyone else out there that could help with this one? :?

Hi guys,

I run Vista and I had the same problem too.

Have you tried to install the USB drivers from the Samsung site?

The link is below.

Give it a go and see what happens!

Happy Trails :)

I have tried all of these fixes and downloaded the newer version of PC studio, but still no luck.

Mustaine, did you actually manage to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Same problem here, Vista64.. as follows:

Backup: works
Synkronize: works
Connect to the internet: works (although it asks me to install some nokia app)
Install Applications: works
File Manager: CLASS NOT REGISTERED! (damnit, it's probably the most important one of the bunch..)
Contacts: CLASS NOT REGISTERED!
MESSAGES: CLASS NOT REGISTERED!
View Multimedia: works
Store images: works
Transfer Music: works
Create Wallpapers: works
Manage Connections: works
Phone Software Update: works, can launch without giving the "class not registered" message, but says "phone not connected" when I start it.

Any other way to manage file transfers between PC and phone?

None as far as I'm aware.

I've even gone as far as installing XP just to see if the PC is to blame but sadly it isn't.

I'm running Vista64, I know Gaco is as well. Are the rest of you running Vista 64 or 32??

I'll have a look around and see if I can figure out why it's acting up.

Cheers guys :)
