I'm running Vista 64 bit and it tells me that me phone isn't connected. Is there a special mode you put it in?

Seems that new PC studio doesn't fully support Vista64. At least I had the same problem on a Vista64 PC.

OK so after spending most of Sunday attempting to upgrade my firmware I'm now stuck ! I managed to get it to 100% current progress (which I assume is the download part), and its now stuck on 20% total progress (install part?), 'receiving phone software raw data'. The damn thing keeps asking me to go into recovery mode when I pull out the usb and then we start the process again.Each time I do it hangs on 20%.

I've tried it on two different PC's(XP) rebooted the phone god knows how many times, I'm not far off giving up, this has to be the worst phone ever to update !

Is it worth the pain? From initial reports I cannot see that much has changed apart from Fring dissappearing and Ashphalt 4 arriving (woo!).

... and it seems that the battery is last longer ( at least for me, after couple calls, couple hours music, 10 min web searching.. still full!-- never happened before!)

Bah ! I knew it ! Now I've got to get it sorted! The battery life has been pretty poor and whilst killing all the background apps is one solution to get reasonable battery life, I was kinda hoping the firmware fix would sort it more permantely and allow me to use my phone a little more expansivley.....

Anyone knows whats about software version I8510XEHJ4?
The date of this version is 24.10.2008!
There at the bottom is option to update the phone over the net, but there are some information needed to insert them, like server name and ID, password, access point, host address, gate, user`s name and password. Where to get all these?
I am just asking in case if someone knows it.

The Samsung support site now lists the i8510 as having an update available.

I haven't updated my phone as yet but it already has asphat 4 and doesnt have the fringe on it? does this mean it came with the update???
