I wouldn't worry too much because nobody can get the update to work. The download took 3 hours, it started updating and failed at 27%. The only option was to pull the battery (glad I wasn't first to try that). The phone reboots ok but with the old firmware. I'm downloading again (you'd think it would just use the files it downloaded already but nooooo) and it's just as slow. Will try the update this time and if it also fails then I'm leaving it until Samsung get their act together.

Ok got the new firmare installed

Looking about I cant see much difference...

There is a few new apps.. CNN, RoadSync and Asphalt 4

Yep, mine just finished updating, didn't stall at 27% this time.

Just finished upgrading. It took 2h 30min, not 20-30min it was said when started.Still checking on whether anything is changed.. so far, only thing I have noticed is that Fring is gone!

Internet seems to have a massive update witht the new firmware

I can now watch tv on my phone with orangeworld (couldnt yesterday with old firmware)

do we need the program apolo to flash the phone or the pc suite will be able to update the phone by itself? What is the exact process on flashing the phone? thanks!

if ya gonna update make sure u have at least 90 mins to spare it takes forever

It still does not work, neither with 7_7.1.40.8 nor with 7_7.1.47.8. Keeps saying "Phone software updater does not support the connected model". Pretty weird.

Hi, I had the same problem at first, then after downloading 7_7.1.47.8. I then restarting my PC. I was asked to install a new driver from samsung after this was completed I was then able to update my phone successfully. hope this helps you.
