So...not sure what exactly i should be doing here.

Postby Question » Wed Jul 07, 2010 1:10 pm

Im looking at http://samsungi8510.com/i8510-innov8-firmware/ but some of the critical links are dead and in the "apollo+drivers" download i do not see any zip file for USB drivers at all.

Im reading the readme file and....this is what i gathered so far....

Install both the USB drivers and the PDA drivers. Okay, got that.

Verify PDA driver. My phone is on the blue screen now but apollo 6.10 shows...nothing?

Edit : Okay i found this : the-best-firmware-for-i8510-t1080-40.html

But when i switch my phone to all download mode and plug in the USB, nothing shows up in apollo 6.10 even after a very long time...

Edit 2 : I managed to get PDA to ocnfirm but phone download is still blank in apollo and i have re-ran the setup files many times in windows 7. Any ideas?

Hello Question.
Please do a clean installation. Uninstall all the flashing drivers that you now have in your pc.

If you use Windows 7, the basic drivers you need to flash your phone are:

1. SAMSUNG CDMA Modem driver
2. SSDN_V1.1.808.7165_SETUP_whql
3. Samsung_PC_Studio_7.2.24.9

These 3 drivers are all you need. Install them and restart pc.

a. Don't launch Apollo yet. Plug in your USB plug to phone and pc (in USB mode),
this is to allow Windows to install automatically other needed drivers.
After Windows completes installing drivers, retart pc.

b. Do same as above but this time, USB plug should be connected in "Mass Storage" mode.
As above, Windows will install automatically some needed drivers. Restart pc.

c. Now Launch Apollo. Power on phone in "All Download Mode"
by holding simultaneously * and 4 buttons and pressing the power button.

d. Plug in USB to phone and pc. Then click All download in Apollo.
Be patient, windows will detect and install modem drivers. Then start downloading modem.

At PDA, windows will detect and download USB drivers. Takes a little over a minute. Just be patient.
All will install and download.

That's all. Please let me know if this solved your problem.

Yep it worked, thanks!

Seems uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them did the trick.

I flashed with the Nigeria firmware and its definately a lot faster than the default one.

Only problem : Everytime i exit camera mode, the phone turns off anti-shake and resets it to "auto focus". Why cant it keep my settings?

Whats the difference between auto focus and macro anyway? Macro seems a lot better, but even it cant do close up shots without blurring the image.
