Let's Find Widgets

Postby deroo » Sat Jul 04, 2009 6:37 am

Zurk said they were in the Russian Development Firmware. I've been watching a couple of his threads. If any info shows up, post it here.

Here is where he is talking about extracting the RND tools in a thread.

dev-russian-full-4feb09-t578.html

I've been looking and so far I see no widgets.

Here is where he gives me the notion that they exist.

samsung-tutorial-widget-video-t162-10.html

Yet at the same time, I have the RND folder on my phone and I don't have the widgets on there at all, I also used the I8510XEHL1DEV and I got nowhere with that, still no widgets in the RND folder.

They removed the widget part from the UK tutorial... Still there in the mea site tho...

I dont think its hidden in some folder but we should keep an eye out for new firmwares...

I think it exists, the question is which firmware has it. BTW the Battery Life on the RND version of DJIC1 is amazing.

I didn't have a problem at all. I don't have any missing text?

I suggest it if you're patient. It takes a bit of time to set up.

Otherwise it seems to be pretty complete. It has everything but Shozu and I don't use that, so it doesn't matter.

Now, what about them Widgets? I've been told its somewhere here, where is it exactly, any ideas?

I was in Z:\sys\bin and I found something interesting:

WidgetBackupRestore.exe
WidgetEngine.dll
WidgetInstallerUI.dll
WidgetLauncher.exe
WidgetMemoryPlugin.dll
WidgetRecognizer.dll
WidgetRegistry.exe
WidgetRegistryClient.dll
WidgetTpSrv.dll
WidgetUI.exe

Something tells me all of our firmwares can use widgets. It's just a matter of finding out how to get them on the phone. I assume the program was removed at some point, but that doesn't mean that it won't work if we find it and put it back on.

Nice find!

Can we launch any of these?
