what to expect?

pros

phone response is faster
web loads faster
camera focuses faster

you cannot access news sites in the internet. ex cnn
no route 66
no zip
the font used through out seems a little bigger than other firmwares. its like everything is in bold characters.
the firmware took up a lot more space in the c drive.

This is all the changes ive seen by far, that i havent seen in this discussion hope this helps. overall am undecided whether to recommend this firmware, since a lot of websites would be automatically blocked by this version.

I installed IE1 and set the language to english and I have come across a number of problems.

1) VerySoft NiceLight (Flashlight App) does not work using the Camera LED anymore (as it used to in IB2)

2) Calendar Entries only show up ON THE DAY of the event, and not a number of days before (as in IB2)

3) In SMS writing, If you write a word and scroll through possible alternate words in the T9 Dictionary, and then try to scroll back to a previous word (by pressing "Previous"), the whole word disappears. (!!!) Note: This does not seem to be a problem in the Notes app. (???)

Can anyone else confirm any of these problems?

I tried verysoft nicelight yesterday, it didn't work.

Calendar entries are a hit or miss, sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't, ive heard conflicting reports, on mine, they show up.

I don't use t9, ever, so I couldnt tell you about #3.

I'd use it even if I wasn't planning to worry about battery life. It's probably one of the best Task managers out there.
