Hi,

Could someone direct me where to get the latest/best firmware for this phone with ENG language? The link on the mainsite isn't working, and i'm not convinced that's the latest anyway.

Download any firmware of your choice from this link the-best-firmware-for-i8510-t1080-10.html.
All the links here are working. The firmwares here are the latest for each named region/country.

All have English language.

Thanks for your reply Since posting this, i read up more and better understood how the firmware versions etc. works. I installed 'I8510XXIC1 UK March 2009' in the end.

So far, i've found the firmware quite good (i live in the UK). However, IMO one big drawback with this firmware is that there is no option to switch the phone into GSM-Only mode (only Dual Mode and UMTS). This is killing the battery!

The reason for the lack of option is that it is a Hutchinson 3G branded firmware and 3G offers no real 2G support on their phones.

I think it would be an idea for you to update your thread and mention this. This really is a big problem!!

I'm looking for a UNBRANDED firmware for my i8510. Right now, I have the i8510XXC1 but with the custom version i8510H3GID1 wich means it's branded (3 UK)!

Can someone please tell me where to find this firmware but without the branding? Does it even exist? Like a XXC1 without any 3 crap... thanks

Yeah, unbranded UK firmware would be great if anyone has it. Or an O2 firmware would be cool.

Samsung is really crap at i8510 support and their PC suite updates your phone then tells you that your phone is not a recognised phone for updating.

Don't think I will ever get another Samsung phone.

My battery used to last for days but since I applied an update from here, my battery also only lasts about 1 day. Sometimes I have to charge it 2 times in one day! Don't know what's going on but its annoying.

Hello! I need some help! When i type in *#0000# this is what it says:
Software version: I8510DJHI3
Software Date :11/09/2008
Custom Version: I8510L15XSOHI1
Custom Version Date: 01/09/2008

My phone has quite a bit of problem, sometimes when i pick up the phone card there is a huge lag till i can actually talk on the phone, secondly my photo slide show (the 3rd option on the switch on the side of the camera) can never load! So i am assuming it is the firmware problem! so i was wondering what version of the firmware do i need to download to update my phone, and what kinda steps i need to take in order to do so. Most importantly i need the phone to be able to read english and chinese. I brought my i8510 in HK. email me at tukiko137@hotmail.com if u have any suggestions! URGENT PLEASE!!!
