How to Turn on Internal GPS

Postby bigup » Fri Jul 31, 2009 10:18 am

Hi

Can someone please tell me in simple terms how i turn on or use the internal GPS with tomtom. I can not work out how i make the internal gps activate and searchable. I have tried using the 'GPS data' and 'GPS +' but dont have a clue how these relate to the internal gps turning on.

Any information is much appreciated. Thanks.

I have the exact same problem. I just can't seem to get my internal GPS working, eventhough it is checked on at settings > general > Positioning. U should be able to get your position through the GPS data application in the tools menu, but neither that is working after waiting for a whole hour of calculating data.
I've also downloaded the packet through GPS+ in the hope it would work, but it didn't either.

My last resort was a FW update, but the problem remained..

Anyone any solution?

Internal gps does not work 'out of the box' with tom tom on the i8510. I use garmin which works great..

With regards to your gps problem, the gps+ data has to be downloaded via a gsm connection not wi-fi. Also, and i know this may be obvious, but you need to be outdoors.
