1st post

While experimenting with my phone i got it stuck on 2 occassions -_-
while restarting, he would hang up at boot...
by experimenting I found a combination to reset the phone on boot :

with phone turned off, press 0 & 8 at the same time and while keeping them pressed, turn it on.

please tell if it can help anyone here

man, I want to tank you but I don't know how....I was seraching for a way to reset my phone coz it was impossible to use it slow performance and when I lose all the hopes( 4 dayslooking for it) you appear with this "simple way" omg ty

You`re totally right, It`s like a user on this forum sad about innov8 beeing the ugly duckling in the Samsung family because of the the Nokia-ware..

Wow! If I only had known this earlier I could at least have tried it.
Though I'm not sure if this works for a dead phone. From the explanation by holyseal, his phone still booted, what he is describing is a reset "on boot". My phone did not react to any button anymore, would not even _start_ booting.

I must say I find it hard to believe holyseal found this "by accident". Press 0 & 8 at the same time while booting the phone? You know how many different combinations there are? And has anyone tested this, does it work? (I had to send my phone back to the shop before this was posted.)

Well actually, I did find this by "accident". I'd rather say, by luck. I'm a power user "geek", have gotten multiple phones (my last try being an Xperia X1, but winmo is to slow for me...),
and I always look for how to optimize my experience with them.
I knew about some combinations like 1+4 (PDA/modem mode), etc, used to enter special modes as described somewhere for firmware upgrade.
So i though there must be some other combinations, too, so I just tried random ones, 1+4 being vertical, I tried vertical ones.
If you really think about it there are not that much possible combinations with adjacent keys.
I'd make you a video to prove it, but I'm not fancy on loosing all my data and I never tried the samsung backup utility so I'm not really
happy about trying it. And users can as well try it themselves, if the phone is already "stuck" I don't see how it could hurt.

Hi,this might be relevant for some of you.

I did something really dumb...I pressed 1+3 when powering up my i8510. Then my phone kept restarting showing only the Samsung logo over and over. I solved the problem by pressing 1+4 when powering up; HOWEVER WARNING: i lost all my contacts, and 7 applications. My photos and videos was still intact. When pressing 1+4, I got a blue screen--->removed battery, and restarted normal. Phone works.

I hope this can be useful for some of you.
