Hi all

Just got the phone and theres no R66 app in the applications folder - the rest of the icons are there...do i have to download the GPS+ crap to get R66 to show up? anyways i installed Sygic Mcguider 7.6 and it works but the internal gps device isnt working - do i have to activate it somehow?? i follwed the online manual but still theres no sign of the gps working - theres no signal when i go to gps-data and see my position etc...

any help would be appreciated

The GPS+ "crap" will accelerate your GPS connection, and the data downloaded is valid for 7 days. Sorry, but if the Route 66 is not there, it´s not there, u could try downloading from their site and paying for the maps u want. For the Sygic to work the GPS of the phone must be activated first MENU>TOOLS>GPS DATA, then u turn on the Sygic. Peace.

Anyways, i have tried going into gps-data under tools and all i get is 'no connection' now i still firmly believe that no one messed with my unit at the factory and took out the actual gps receiver because really, theres no way for me to know if its working..

Btw, after reading all the reviews i was positive that this device comes rpeloaded with R66...unless theres members here that also have that software missing.

Im really looking forward to using this device as my navigator but i cannot...anyone know what might i be missing? i mean apart from using gps+ - unless that is the absolute way of making this phone have working gps with any software its got...

One more thing...gsmarena lists the specs with this phone having A-GPS which is assisted gps and i dont see any menu option to turn that on? there's integrated gps but thats not the same thing...

Hi. mine didn´t come with route66 either, only a batch sold at the UK came with it, with no maps...as I´ve read. Stay calm, I have 2 GPS working perfectly, why wouldn´t u get 1? The GpS uses your internet connection to work, not wi-fi, the 3g/Edge one,so that´s the first thing u have to check is OK. The A-GPS is the GPS+, it really speeds up the connection if you download its data every 7 days. If your connections are OK it should work, but maybe u´ll have to go to the GPS data>Options>Positionig settings and check if everything is there, specially the Access point.

As I said, the Route66 is free to download ar their site, but u have to get the latest update, that´s the page with the instructions and the link:

Don´t forget u´ll have to pay for the maps, I paid 9 euros for mine, didn´t feel robbed...

The other one is the Sygic Driver, very good too, and free if you don´t have problems using hacked software, I won´t give u the way cause I´ve already been banned from other Forum because of that... just Google it.

Well my Sydic 7.6 finally worked - just had to get the stuff right there was no magical method on making the internal gps work - as soon as the software has all the needed components you just need to step outside to get a clear signal.

Mine did NOT come with Route 66 either. I bought the phone in North America.
