I searched and cannot find a fix to this.

I connect my phone to PC, have newest PC suite and USB Drivers.

Software updater tells me I can update to HJ3. After 100% Download, around 27% progress on raw update (bottom status bar) The computer disconects the phone and never recognizes it again. The phone is stuck on ALL DOWNLOAD screen and absolutely nothing happens; I left it for about an hour like this to make sure. Anyway, I take the battery out and it is back to normal on the HH software.

Is there something Im doing wrong???? I have NEVER had an issue like this upgrading my N95 or N96.

Using Vista 64 by the way.

Maybe you didn't look hard enough?

If you look a few topics down from this one, you'll see a topic called "help w/ software updating". It basically details how to get past the 27% error.

Just google i8510 update freeze and first link will tell you the answer...look people look ))
Google knows everything except about new firmware ))

I googled and searched this forum for 27% update freeze. All the keeps coming up is people mentioning it. Some help would be much appreciated rather than just telling me search.

OK men here it come:
When you are stopped at 27% disconnect your phone, pull out the battery and you will see phone recovery option in software updater...
Follow the instructions (hold 4+7 keys and press power on), you should see all download red screen.
After this is done, your update should be done without any problems...
You can also try to install additional usb drivers (you have them on official samsung site together with PC studio), sometimes it helps to just go without beeing stopped ad 27%!!!
