I Just downloaded and installed Garmin XT 5.00.40 without error.

Everything is working perfectly, except when I'm in the "View Map" section

in the bottom-right corner it says "no map" and shows my icon on a blank screen

So how to I go about getting and installing a map?

(I would like a united states map to start off with)

download and install support files and free basemap from here :

and you should start seeing roads etc.

thanks! the link u provided was for laptops though but i found the one for mobile https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downl ... &pID=11413

This worked and now i also have all the garmin online stuff working

the map works, you have to install it to the same drive as you installed garmin

if you try installing it to a sd card when you installed garmin to the main mass memory it wont work.

Now where do I get detailied maps?
