Hi,
thank you for clearing that up. So, just to clarify and to help those in future, when entering your imei number you do not need to enter the '/' as far as i can gather once you hit sumbit you should end up with a long 2 line text in chinese this signals to come back in 12-24 hrs if you get a much smaller message can we assume that this means you have done something wrong?

thank you

Dragon1720

p.s. crap that means i have to wait another day

Yes, thats 100% correct :) even the bit about waiting another day :(

There is another way, if you don't mind actually hacking your phone.

Have a look at the topic called "Stupid question? Signing" it has a few details in there.

Cheers!

ok...
at first: if you want to do this, your phone has to be hacked.
go to Z:\Private\10202BE9 and select 101F8763.txt file.
Copy that into C:\Private\10202BE9.
Now go to C and find the txt.Open it with hex viewer and click on edit.
All you need to do is to scroll down to line 488 and change to"5a" to "45" (5a is drive Z and 45 is drive E)
Save it and go te E:\\system and create a sounds\\Digital folder(when it's done it will looks like this: E:\\system\\sounds\\Digital\\)
Now you need an .mp3 file which is no longer than 8 sec!!!this is very important!!1
Rename it for power_on.mp3 and trasfer to E:\\system\\sounds\\Digital\\.
(the map structure must to be the following:E:\\system\\sounds\\Digital\\power_on.mp3
All yu need to do is restart the phone and :D

Thanks for pointing that out.

I noticed that I used Jbtaskmanager to get my IMEI, Using tools -> System info, which was just a raw imei anyway.

Using *#06# , I typed in the imei without the /, and found that firefox had remembered me typing in the same code previously :( Are we sure the site still works?

I tried googliing what the charecters mean, and I think that :

验证码错误

means "Invalid authentication code", but I may be wrong...

*edit*
I attempted to do it manually on the chinese language website, seems I got further:

If its true the verification code is failing on the dev cert site is failing - is the original google translated link around? I'd need to enter via that way to actually get the cert latter on.
