Postby voldemort1923 » Fri Sep 11, 2009 12:12 pm

One of my friend has Samsung Omnia. He has tens of different firmwares. Why isnt there many firmware for i8510?
Can't advanced users make a firmware to change amr during video record?
should we wait always samsung to release a new firmware?

I don't think that's the case, Bobsik. At least they will have some more S60v3 devices coming up. If they won't, the Samsung (Beta) App Store won't be there.

So is our future depending fully on touch screens? I don't really like the looks of it...

Guys, there is an app store for Samsung smart phones....Its not for s60v5 or s60v3. Its for all their symbian and windows mobile phones.
Its still in Beta at the moment but it software is available for alot of handsets.
Nokia 6600 - Nokia N80 - Nokia N81 8gb - Samsung I8510 8gb = Brand Loyalty ftw!

The problem is Samsung is just a hardware supplier regarding S60. If they can somehow make their own brew of Symbian^2 and it turns out great, then they could truly beat Nokia in their own garden. This is especially true in the case of software available for their Symbian platforms. Well it's no longer Nokia's garden legally since they turned Symbian into some sort of universal, everyphone OS...
