How to solve the problem of the name not showing up when someone calls or sends a text (sms)

You need to put your sim in the phone. All of the contacts are on the sim. You go to contacts-->options-->mark/unmark-->Mark all then scroll down to Copy-->Phone Memory-->OK. That will solve that problem for good.
