I realized, that innov8 has no future anymore > Nokia N900 (With portable version of Debian Linux), but I still visit sometimes this site :)

Same problem here -- usb charges only; data does not work.

Phone isn't recognized with PC Studio 7.7. In fact it won't connect in mass storage mode or any way-- it only charges. The usb connection mode menu doesn't appear on the phone when it's plugged in to USB. It does this with each of the 3 different firmwares I have tried.

I have two I8510 phones. So I checked the other one, the usb cable is fine because the menu "Select USB mode" appears on the other phone (Malaysia DJIC) when I use the same cable.

Any ideas on what it could be? Anyone else had a problem where the phone wouldn't show the "Select USB mode" menu when plugged in to pc? What are the chances of a bad USB connection on the phone itself rather than the cable?
