Hey all,
I've been browsing these forums pretty much all day, hoping to find an answer to my question. Here is the situation:
I'm planning on replacing my current phone with one with a better camera ... My choice has boiled down to either the i8510 or the SonyEricsson C905, both of which have very similar cameras. Shots Ive seen online suggest that the Samsung camera is better than that of the C905. Combine that with Symbian OS and I am compelled to choose the INNOV8.
However: I must have simplified Chinese language input on my phone and must be able to read Chinese characters. I'm experienced in flashing SonyEricsson phones, but I just can't wrap my head around the way Samsung works. From what I gather, I need to get a firmware file called I8510ZC*****, where ZC denotes Mainland China/Hong Kong firmware. I have no idea what the date and version codes at the end would be, and I also have no idea if the Taiwan or plain Hong Kong firmware would support simplified Chinese.
So I turn to this thriving community to answer these questions:
1. Which firmware files come with simplified Chinese input? ZC must do, how about Taiwan, Hong Kong or XX?
2. What's the latest unbranded firmware with simplified Chinese and where can I get it?
3. Is it possible to cook German T9 into a Chinese firmware, or Chinese language support into a German firmware? I remember doing that on my K810.
Thanks for your help in advance. I'd really love to get this phone. While I do believe Sony builds solid phones, camera quality is a big issue for me. But its a deal breaker without Chinese input support...
