Awaiting for better GPS Accuracy. Please help. Thanks

Postby Careless » Sun Apr 26, 2009 7:15 am

Hi ,

I finally succeeded to get to internal gps and installed maps of North America but I am having " Awaiting for better GPS Accuracy " mesaji for ages! I keep waiting, waiting but nothing happens.

I looked at the positioning of the phone and integrated gps is selected along with NETWORKED BASED. Is this the correct way? Should NETWORKED BASED should be on?

For the fist time, is it normal that it is taking for minutes and minutes?

I tried GPS+ and once I run it, I see the message saying " downloading data" and then I dont see anything happening. I wanted to try GPS+ because I know that it will take shorter to lock GPS but what do I need to have to run GPS+? Data connection with my GSM carrier or WLAN access?

I would really appreciate your help

Thanks to everyone, especially to Hunhool as he already helped me a lot!

You should set up gps+ to use your regular access point, you can find this in the settings menu. You can also check the validity of the data by selecting 'check valid time' in the main screen.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I've setup the phone using internet GPS + network aided.
When I select the 'GPS signal' in Garmin all the bars are green..

Its just sitting there ans saying 'awaiting...' when I try 'Where am I?'
I've read that for some people it took like 30 minutes for the first time and slider have to be open. I'm trying that now but its been sitting here for some time now but still nothing...

Will let you know if I manage to get it.. and how long it took..

Best regards,

P.s. oh I also just ran GPS+ app, and it downloaded latest file and said its now valid for 7 days..

Well I tried for like 5 minutes outside. .but was kinda cold :) so went inside after that..

But my battery went dead within 3 hours with the shitty Garmin, I know that that is because that one service keeps running but I don't want to keep shutting that shit down so Im gonna search for a better option..I've been trying to install a cracked version of Route 66 but because Route 66 is already installed it won't let me and I have not found any way of uninstalling the pre installed version..

Best regards,

p.s. using Route 66 (pre installed) it can find my location (cordinates) being inside.. just the World Maps doesn't know what that is exactly :) gonna try CoPilot now from ipmart

GARMIN XT people there are two services - cardrunner.dll and the autostart.exe which all know.. so take this two out and you will have no change from the previous battery life :)

Try using version 5.04 you wont have to kill the process this way and it may help you with the GPS problem too. There are a number of threads relating to the Garmin issue in this forum, it maybe worthwhile catching up on them.

Just for the record Garmin works absolutely fine for the majority of people, so stick with it I'm sure it will all come good. :)
