apollo doesn't recognize modem driver???

Postby cream626 » Fri Sep 18, 2009 6:17 am

for some reason im trying to flash my phone but when i check to see if the drivers are installed i check the pda driver through apollo and that seems to work fine but then when i get turn on the phone using the method of pressing 7 and * button and then connect it to my pc appollo doesn't recognize the modem driver, like for example i saw a video on how its done and it should show com 3 or something of that sort. Instead when i connect the phone during while "modem download" is flashing on the phone the computer says it has to install a driver for it, then it searches for it online and eventually it comes up with an error stating that the driver could not be installed because it is not digitally signed or watever.

I've looked everywhere for this driver and apparently everytime i look for the phone driver the only links that are provided are download links to the pc suite. I guess maybe the pc suite download also provides for the phone drivers? but I already have pc suite version 7 7.2.24.9 ( i had a different version before but installed it and then installed this one) and apparently thats the latest version. My phone also work fine with the suite and it recognizes it and connects to it without issues.

this may be a noob issue that im overlooking but what do i need as a driver or can anyone provide for a link to the driver i need to be able for apollo to recognize the phone so i can start flashing it. I've looked everywhere and all i see for phone drivers (not just pda) are links to older versions of pc suite. Maybe my phone didn't download the modem driver for pc suite or something? I'm considering just putting my phone back to factory settings and uninstalling all the drivers as well as pc suite and doing a reinstall.

Any thoughts anyone? thanks in advance

I should also mention that i didn't even have the pda drivers either for apollo but my computer recognized that i didn't and installed them automatically, and after that apollo showed that it on its screen when my phone was connected using the 1&4 power on method. It doesn't however install the phone drivers though...

to be honest, thank you for the help and the timely response but there is not a solution on that page that you provided. I also did a search in the forums and there are a few people who have had the same problem but no posted solutions. My driver isn't found so my computer prompts me to search for it automatically, I then do that and it eventually says unknown device is ready to use but no modem driver is shown. I've also searched for just the modem driver and it is nowhere to be found. It seems that for everyone the driver is automatically installed and for me the pc suite doesn't install the driver, maybe its because of former pc suites that have been uninstalled correctly leaving traces of the modem driver being installed. I also have done a restore to factory settings since i first installed the drivers on my computer so that may have something to do with it.

I've uninstalled everything having to do with the phone or software or drivers and have done a reinstall of them all to no avail. My next option will be to restore the phone and do an reinstall to the software and drivers i guess. Otherwise I have no idea. I wish there was a link to the innov8 modem driver. I've searched for that too but it doesn't really come up with anything.

From the link I referred you to, have you cross-checked that you have all these items installed as indicated in item number one?
How to Flash Your Samsung I8510

1. In your PC, Install all the tools needed for flashing. These are:

a. SAMSUNG CDMA Modem driver
b. Samsung USB_Driver MCCI_4.34 WHQL
c. SSDN_V1.1.808.7165_SETUP_whql
d. msxml
e. Samsung_PC_Studio_7.2.24.9

You need to install all these items a to d as well as the pc suite. (In Windows 7 I noticed that item d is not necessary).

The pc suite does not include the CDMA Modem driver needed to connect to the pda modem for flashing (So you need to install the item 1a above).

Please try to run all installations as an Administrator. Also restart pc after installations.

When you plug in your phone for the first time to flash, Windows may need some time to install the necessary drivers (so wait some minute or two at modem download; and another one or two minutes for pda download).

Advice: Better do a clean installation (Uninstall all your old drivers before installingthe drivers Included in this link):

Visit this link and download all the drivers: tools-needed-for-flashing-samsung-i8510-t1206.html
