Samsung i8510 INNOV8 User Forums

Hey guys & gals,

This is my first post, so I'd first like to say this is a cool forum dedicated to an awesome phone!

Now my problem ... I've collected quite a few cool 3D java games for my N95 8GB, but none of which seem to work on the i8510? The jar files I have are for QVGA s60v3 handsets, and should work on the i8510. They all install fine, but when going into the actual game, only the background shows with no 3D textures or elements whatsoever? I've tried installing to the phone memory and memory card, but either way they still don't work.

Ironically, all 2D java games work fine, it just seems the i8510 may be running a different type or version of java that does not work with java games that are built for s60v3.

Is anyone familiar with this problem, or has the knowledge to advise me where I may be going wrong?

yep sad but true. seems to be that sammy uses a extrem low java heap memory. if you read the error code after a game crash youll read "out of memory". hope its just a firmware issue. but if its not we will never can play nice java 3d games.

Hey ganxta, thanks for the reply buddy. I'm sat here at work in our Network Operations Centre just casually browsing the web... and haven'nt seen many similar reported issues. It's a shame really, but I have to admit that despite this issue, the phone is still awesome! I just need to try harder to find the best remaining symbian games now lol!
